Breath

Wow, it has been more than a week since my last post. Thank God, finally I was able to really sleep last night. I thought I was getting sick with a sore throat. But I guess the allergy season is kicking in and my throat just can't take it anymore. I've been coughing for the past few days. It's weird that it only happens at night time when I sleep. My throat just becomes super itchy and starts to cough continually. It's like every time I inhale, the air just makes my throat itchy. I was so uncomfortable and helpless...can't really scratch my itchy throat!

It is truly a blessing to be able to breath normally. I'd never stop and think what an amazing gift it is. Most of us probably never give it a thought. It's something so ordinary and natural that I take it for granted. If you have no trouble breathing, you are blessed. =) Thank you all for praying for me!

I am feeling a little under the weather. My one and only symptom is sore throat, plus a little fatigue. I took Theraflu last night, Tylenol flu this morning, and Airborne twice this afternoon and around dinner time. I hope taking different medicines is ok for me. heehee

It seems like we've all experieced the four seasons within these two weeks. The weather changes dramatically. Some of the days were hot like summer but the temperature just dropped the next day, then the sun was out again. In a short while, it became chilly and even sprinkled.

Take good care of yourself everyone. =)
Time to rest. Good night.

Amazing Creation

Today is the baby's check-up appointment for Janice. I took 2-hour off from work this morning to go with daddy and mommy to the doctor's office. The appointment time was 9:30AM and there were so many expectant mothers sitting there waiting. I think it was a little awkward for me to be there but auntie Sydney just wants to see how the baby swim inside mommy's tummy and hear the baby's heartbeat. I was extremely excited and it's really interesting to see all the moms-to-be have different sizes of tummy. Janice is probably the youngest, prettiest, and happiest mommy. =)

I started to have conversation with a mother who brought a 2-year old boy with her. She is having her 4th baby. The first three children are all boys, ages 2, 4, & 6, and this one is a girl. They are all two years apart. Can you imagine four kids running around in the house?

While we were waiting, a lady came in to drop off something and she is a pastor's wife I know from another church. After that, another lady came in to the receptionist to make an appointment and you know what, she is someone from work! We were astonished when we saw each other. What a coincidence! Later, I saw this lady whose face is very familiar but couldn't remember where I met her. Then I went up to her and asked her whether she knows me. Then she asked me, "do you work at the district?" haha...found out that she is the parent who came to my office for her kid's testing. What a small world! It's surprising to see so many familiar faces at the doctor's office.

It was my first time hearing the baby's heartbeat and seeing the baby from the ultrasound. The doctor said that the baby was kneeling down praying. So cute. I saw the baby's head, eyes, body, and two skinny legs. It's fascinating to see a new life swimming inside mommy's tummy. God is amazing. His creation is beyond my understanding and I praise Him because His work is wonderful. I thank Him because we are all wonderfully made. =)

After the check-up, I went to get some creampuffs before heading back to the office. Beard Papa's creampuffs are pretty good, but just a little pricey.

Car Wash

How often do you wash your car?
Every week? Every other week? Or every month?
My answer to that question is "approximately twice a year..."

Haha...all you car lovers probably think that's totally unbelievable and unacceptable! Well, it will always rain after I wash my car. It happened many times and I've learned my lesson. Why wasting my energy and time washing my car when the rain will wash it again the next day? On top of that, I got stung by a bee once before while washing my car. Now, I never wash my car by hands. I go to the drive-through carwash at the gas station when I think I really need to get my car cleaned.

This afternoon, BigWill was going to wash his mini and he asked me if I want to wash mine. Nah...too tired to wash my car. After awhile I went downstairs and didn't see him and when I went back to my room looking down from my window, I was so surprised to see him washing my car for me! My goodness..."THANK YOU!!!!!!!" I took some pictures to prove that BigWill is a hardworking guy!

Muhahaaha...you've been watched!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!! =)

Big Family

For the past few weeks, there were 11 people plus one doggie living in the house. A little crowded but it was so much fun. Little uncle, little auntie and Erin came to visit us from Taiwan. This trip was for Erin's auditions for music schools in Dallas and Manhattan. LA was their first and last stop of the entire trip.

Growing up in a big family is one of the blessings God has given to me. When we were little we all lived together with grandma, uncles, aunties, and cousins. Living together made us very close to each other. They watched us grow up and I even remember the time when little uncle and little auntie were still dating and Janice and I were their flower girls when they got married. I was in the hospital when Erin was born...I couldn't remember why I was at the hospital. haha...Now Erin is going to college and Janice is expecting the baby, the 4th generation of the family. Time surely flies.

I took some time off from work this week to spend more time with them. We girls went shopping on one day while the boys went to Getty museum to appreciate the beauty of art. We girls are too materialistic? heehee... It was crazy for us girls to go shopping together. We had so much fun picking out clothes and trying on in the fitting room. I felt like I was on summer vacation these couple of days!

Eating out was also one of the things we enjoyed doing together since we all need to eat. Can't believe how much food we ate throughout the week. haha =P

Here are the links for some of the photos we took at the restaurants:
King's Palace Restaurant
V.I.P. Restaurant
Happy Veggie Garden
Baja Fresh
Seafood Village Restaurant

Little uncle, little auntie, and Erin went back to Taiwan last night. I don't like the feeling of seeing people leave. I really hope one day I would be able to visit them, especially my grandma.

Family Photos

We went to take family photos back in January at the beginning of this year. Three more members are added to the family: my brother-in-law, their baby (in mommy's tummy), and Brownie. We were originally there only for one big size photo, but the photographer took tons of pictures for us with different poses and backgrounds. That's how they do their business. They know we would want to buy more photos when we see the final pictures. Yup, we ended up getting a lot of photos. =)

Family. I love my family.

Health is Wealth

For the past few weeks, my co-workers and I have been taking short "walking breaks" both in the morning and afternoon. All we want is to get our butt off our chairs and keep our eyes from staring the monitors for too long. At 10 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon, four of us would walk around the parking lot and it takes us about 3 to 4 minutes. It's actually a great idea to get ourselves refreshed throughout the day.

We planned to do more walking this week and we all brought our sneakers today. We decided to walk at 11:30 and we walked about 25 minutes today. It was hot today and I definitely need a visor or hat and sunblock to keep myself from sunburn. I know exercise is good for me and I need it, but I just don't like it. I am not self-motivated and have to really push myself.

I really respect those who have been going to the gym on a regular basis. And for those who just joined the fitness, right on! Start exercising!! =)

Sticker Pictures

I remember "many" years ago, the sticker pictures were very popular. It cost around five or six dollars to take the pictures for each machine. I thought its popularity fade as I get older but it's completely the opposite! It's even more popular than ever.

The machines are much bigger and fancier. The price has gone up to 10 dollars! It's extremely expensive! I can't believe it. Kids nowadays are rich! For some machines, there is a mini couch in there where you can take pictures while sitting down or there are two seats with different heights if you like the pose of lying down or bending over (this sounds a little weird...), or there are ones where the background changes automatically. It's very funny when I saw a sign inside one of the machines that says "please remove your shoes when you use the climbing bar." What...it's quite hilarious when I imagined how people would actually climb up to pose for the photos. haha =)

Helen asked me to take the sticker pictures with her and we went yesterday. I met Helen when I worked at the summer school last year. Then I started to tutor her once a week since last September. It's a very neat experience to work with her and build the tutor-student friendship.

I had fun yesterday. Haven't taken any sticker pictures for a long time and don't know how to pose and be creative. I guess I am beyond the age of pretending to be cute...heehee. I guess girls like to take the sticker pictures because the lighting just makes your skin look perfect in the pictures, even if you have big pores on you. hahaha =P

My Tire

In the beginning of February, I went through a lot of troubles to have my tires fixed. It started with one simple flat tire, but one thing after another. Here is what happened.
1. Had a flat tire at work.
2. Co-worker broke one bolt while changing the spare.
3. Went to America's tire for two new tires.
4. Found out that another bolt was broken.
5. Needed to get my car towed to anther auto shop.
6. Picked up the car the next day, but they didn't have nut.
7. Needed to go to another auto parts shop to get the nut.
8. The shop didn't have the right size of bolt-nut.
9. Went to three different Pepboys and finally got what I need.

I thought the story of my car ended there. Unfortunately, this morning BigWill told me that he saw a deep crack on the side of the tire. (Thanks BigWill for noticing it!!! Your eyes are sharp!) I went outside to take a look. Man....not again. The crack was deep and I could see the steel from there. I went back to America's tire and you know what. They did NOT have the same tire in stock for replacement. They said it did not lose air pressure but I should put the spare on and it would take three to five business days to order the tire. SIGH...I really wanted to COMPLAIN. The guy checked the other store and found one that had the right tire in stock. Will took me there this afternoon and finally, they replaced a brand new tire on and I didn't have to pay anything. Thank you so much Will.

I didn't know why all of these happened to me. I felt God wanted to see how I would react in these situations. Honestly, I felt so annoyed. But today I am reminded by the word of God, "Praise Him for the glory of His name." Yup, praise Him in all situations, both good and bad. Praise Him for my safety. It's a lesson I'm continuing to learn. =)
