12.26.2007 Downtown Santa Fe

Since everything was closed on Christmas Day, we only walked around the town yesterday and took pictures from the outside. Today, we actually had the opportunities to visit the chapels, museums, galleries, shops and so on. These chilis definitely add another rich color to its history and culture.
Loretto Chapel: Miraculous stairway; built in 1873.
San Miguel Mission Chapel: Oldest church structure in the U.S.A.
Roswell, New Mexico.
We drove about three hours south to Roswell, a place where you might see UFO and aliens. Haha...but I feel we're like the aliens here, the only Asians in the city of Roswell. The funniest part of the night was taking photos at Wal-Mart. I think people can tell that we're the tourists. It was a little embarrassing to take pictures inside the store, as well as outside the store. Well, who cares, we aliens are just here to visit and we'll leave soon. =)

12.25.2007 Christmas Day

Old town Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Merry Christmas!

Greetings from Santa Fe, New Mexico!!

Can't believe we'd driven so many miles all the way from California to New Mexico. Spending our 2007 Christmas first time in New Mexico is truly a very unique and fun experience. It's interesting to see people putting tea lights in brown bags and place them around their houses, along the streets, and even on rooftops. As now in Santa Fe, the temperature here is lower than 20 degree but be able to see the snowy scenery is just exciting. We took tons of photos and here are some photos of the highlights from yesterday.

Have a peaceful Christmas Day! =)

UNDO

While I was driving on the way to work this morning, I turned the volume up trying to listen one more time to the CD that I once thought was “not my style.” It turned out to be a moment of grace where I was so touched by God and soaked in His presence.

This song, Undo, hits me right in the heart, for its lyric is so honest, true, and expressive. For countless times, we’re indeed like a prodigal and hypocrite. We walk away from God and we don’t’ want to humble ourselves and admit our weaknesses and sins. Our hearts are far away from Him; we pretend, just to make ourselves feel better. But God has His arms wide open waiting for us to come back again and again, at all times. There’s always mercy and grace in the embrace of God. No matter how we are, He accepts the way we are. He wipes away our tear and sins. In Him we find forgiveness and love, the hope, and courage to start over, for He is the only one who can turn us around and pick us up. He’s the only one who can undo what we’ve become.
“Undo” from Rush Of Fools

I've been here before, now here I am again
Standing at the door, praying You'll let me back in
To label me a prodigal would be
Only scratching the surface of who I've been known to be

Turn me around pick me up, undo what I've become
Bring me back to the place of forgiveness and grace
I need You, I need Your help, I can't do this myself
You’re the only one who can undo what I've become

I focused on the score but I can never win
Trying to ignore a life of hiding my sin
To label me a hypocrite would be
Only scratching the surface of who I've been known to be

Turn me around pick me up, undo what I've become
Bring me back to the place of forgiveness and grace
I need You, I need Your help, I can't do this myself
You’re the only one who can undo what I've become

Make every step lead me back
To the sovereign way that You

Turn me around pick me up, undo what I've become
Bring me back to the place of forgiveness and grace
I need You, I need Your help, I can't do this myself
You’re the only one who can undo

You’re the only one who can undo
You’re the only one who can undo what I've become
You’re the only one
