UNDO

While I was driving on the way to work this morning, I turned the volume up trying to listen one more time to the CD that I once thought was “not my style.” It turned out to be a moment of grace where I was so touched by God and soaked in His presence.

This song, Undo, hits me right in the heart, for its lyric is so honest, true, and expressive. For countless times, we’re indeed like a prodigal and hypocrite. We walk away from God and we don’t’ want to humble ourselves and admit our weaknesses and sins. Our hearts are far away from Him; we pretend, just to make ourselves feel better. But God has His arms wide open waiting for us to come back again and again, at all times. There’s always mercy and grace in the embrace of God. No matter how we are, He accepts the way we are. He wipes away our tear and sins. In Him we find forgiveness and love, the hope, and courage to start over, for He is the only one who can turn us around and pick us up. He’s the only one who can undo what we’ve become.
“Undo” from Rush Of Fools

I've been here before, now here I am again
Standing at the door, praying You'll let me back in
To label me a prodigal would be
Only scratching the surface of who I've been known to be

Turn me around pick me up, undo what I've become
Bring me back to the place of forgiveness and grace
I need You, I need Your help, I can't do this myself
You’re the only one who can undo what I've become

I focused on the score but I can never win
Trying to ignore a life of hiding my sin
To label me a hypocrite would be
Only scratching the surface of who I've been known to be

Turn me around pick me up, undo what I've become
Bring me back to the place of forgiveness and grace
I need You, I need Your help, I can't do this myself
You’re the only one who can undo what I've become

Make every step lead me back
To the sovereign way that You

Turn me around pick me up, undo what I've become
Bring me back to the place of forgiveness and grace
I need You, I need Your help, I can't do this myself
You’re the only one who can undo

You’re the only one who can undo
You’re the only one who can undo what I've become
You’re the only one
