Day Two

After our breakfast, we walked around the Hilton Hawaiian Village that's across our hotel. The weather is warm and humid, very tropical and a lot of greens and flowers. We then started our adventure by hopping on a trolley in front of our hotel. We did not know where it goes but the trolley driver was super nice. The driver recommended us to go to Pearl Harbor in the morning to avoid the crowds and we could go to the swap meet at the Aloha Stadium for some shopping. She dropped us off at the bus stop at Ala Moana Shopping Center and gave us the money back for a free ride. We then walked around the mall and bought the 4-day bus passes and bus guide book. Since parking at the hotel is $18 a night, getting around by the bus definitely saves us a lot of money. We took our first bus ride and then we made it to USS Arizona Memorial, Pearl Harbor!!! The admission is free and the tour is about 75 minutes. We watched a 20-minute documentary film and then took the boat to the memorial.
After visiting the Pearl Harbor, we headed to Aloha Stadium for some souvenir shopping. The place is too huge, plus the weather is super hot, we only walked through part of it. We had some sweet and juicy pineapples and some taro mochi balls. For dinner tonight, we had sushi at Genki Sushi, a restaurant that serves sushi plates on the conveyor belt that goes around the restaurant. The colors on the plates show the different prices that range from $1.50 to $4.80. Tonight, both of us had 15 plates! yup, we're very hungry today. heehee =P
The last stop for the day is the main street in Waikiki. Again, we took the bus to the International Market Place and just strolled on the busy streets with numerous stores, shops, and restaurants. We also walked along the shore of Waikiki Beach, to feel the breeze and warm sand. Now we're back to the hotel and ready for bed. It's been a fun and adventurous day for us. Good night. =)
