Wild Chickens

We all eat chickens, but we hardly see any real/live chicken here in California unless we visit the barn at the OC fair. In Kauai, chickens/roosters/hens/chicks are everywhere. We first noticed them on the side of the road when we were driving from the airport to the resort. We thought they just happened to be there by escaping from their owners. But then we realized that those wild chickens are everywhere, in the parking lot, on the high mountains, in the jungles, at the courtyards, just EVERYWHERE. Generally, roosters crow when the sun rises, but these wild roosters crow all day long, whenever they feel like to. To tourists like us, these roosters look so beautiful and they're quite entertaining. I wonder how the local people think, the all-day-long-crowing might be a little annoying.

It's common to see people walking their dogs. Last time at the park, we saw people riding horses.
To beat the excitement of seeing wild chickens, yesterday on our way home from Costco, we saw a man walking a "zebra"!!! The man has a rope tied to the neck of the mid-sized zebra, which is probably the size of a donkey. It's just very odd but interesting to see that. Unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to take a picture of it.
