Beracah means Praise 比拉迦就是"稱頌"的意思
Welcome to my Valley of Beracah~
2 Chronicles chapter 20 is one of the most victorious battle stories I've ever read. It really amazes me how the entire nation came together in unity before God, how powerful praises & worships are, and how God delivered King Jehoshaphat and his people from the hands of their enemies.
It all started with King Jehoshaphat's decision of seeking help from the Lord and all the men, with their wives, children, and little ones, also gathered together from every town to seek before the Lord. King Jehoshaphat prayed to God, "For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon You."
The Lord said to the nation, "Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's...You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you...Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you."
Then King Jehoshaphat and the entire nation bowed down and worshipped before the Lord. They also praised the Lord with very loud voice.
On the day of battle, King Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise Him for the splendor of His holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: "Give thanks to the Lord, for His love endures forever." As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the enemies and they were defeated with no one escaped.
On the fourth day they assembled in the Valley of Beracah, where they praised the Lord. This is why it is called the Valley of Beracah to this day. For the Lord had given them cause to rejoice over their enemies.
We might encounter different challenges in our lives and we feel so powerless and do not know what to do. When we are willing to seek God and fix our eyes on Jesus, we will have the faith to trust and believe that He will help us to face these challenges with His mighty power and lead us into the Valley of Beracah.
I think, the Valley of Beracah is.....
a place filled with praises
a place filled with worship
a place filled with glory
a place filled with thanksgiving
a place filled with victory
a place filled with joy
a place filled with peace
a place filled with the presence of God
I truly believe. God always blesses those who seek Him.
Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Praise be to the Lord, for He has heard my cry for mercy & showed His wonderful love to me. Sing to the Lord, praise His name; proclaim His salvation day after day.
